Watch our Beach to Beacon Training Group on 207Maine Running Company is a Running Company featuring three full time coaches, dedicated to the progression of runners and walkers of all abilities. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, we have a program for you. Our popular "Reach The Beacon” Training Program has over 70 members, with many 1st time runners.

Whether you run a 15 minute or 6 minute mile pace, you will find training partners, a structured program and a “social” camaraderie that will be informative, fun and provide successful progression. Couch Potatoes Welcome!

 

Fall Training Group

Description

The program is intended to provide inexperienced to intermediate runners the training and structure needed to successfully complete a Fall 2008 Race from 5K To The Marathon.

August 7 – November 20, 2008. Orientation and signup at 6pm, Thursday, August 7, 2008 or register at the Link above!

$100 (Race Fee Included) for 1st time “Fall” Training Program Participants
Free to any “Reach The Beacon” Alumni

Free Portand Area Fall Race Registration to 1st 30 participants
Group meets Every Thursday evening @ 6pm.

Targeted Races include: Portland Trails 10K, Maine 1/2 Marathon &
Marathon, Turkey Trot 5K and Thanksgiving Day 4 Mile.
$100 sign up fee includes:

• Structured programming includes: Base Training, Tempo/Race Pace, and Taper workouts
• Free Portland Area Fall Race registration for 1st 30 members to sign up ($20 Value)
• Maine Running Tech Tee Shirt ($30 Value)
• 10% off all gear for participants
• Stretching and Core Strength Clinic by Riverview Physical Therapy
• Nutrition Information

Ladies Night Run/Walk Fall Training Group Begins August 12

Join our popular “LADIES ONLY” Run/Walk Fall Training Group every Tuesday evening at 6pm.  With over 40 members, your support and information to get fit is right around the corner!  Orientation is on Tuesday, August 12, 6pm. The program is intended to provide inexperienced and beginner runners the training and structure needed to successfully complete a Fall 5K.

$100 for 1st time training program participants and free to any training group women alumni. Free Tech Tee and Registration to Turkey Trot 5K or Thanksgiving 4 Miler.

Run To Win Team Training

The "Run To Win" Racing Team is a unique individual 6 month training/racing program in a team concept for male/female runners of any level. Wednesday night workouts take place at 6pm, at Maine Running Company with a race focus on Sea Dogs 5K, Women's 5K Brunswick; Beach To Beacon 10K.

Coach Brian "Ziggy" Gillespie, who leads the "Run To Win" Team, is a member of the Maine Running Hall of Fame and coach of the highly successful "Run To Win" team since 1990. He is also a Former St. Joe's XC Head Coach and founder, 3 time President of the Maine Track Club breaks his training into three phases:

March: Distance Base Training

April - June: Leg Strength Workouts, 800 Track Runs @ 5K pace, Uphill - Downhill techniques, 5K Race focus

July - August: 10K Pace focus; Sunday team workouts on B2B 10K Course

Cost: $175 and includes: Monthly Newsletter, Racing Singlet, Team Awards.

Winter Base Training Group

This program is intended to provide strength, base training and structure needed to prepare for the Spring/Summer 2009 Running Season.

December 4, 2008 - March 18, 2008. Orientation and signup at 6pm, Thursday, December 4, 2008.

$60 for 1st time “Winter” Training Program Participants
Free to any “Reach The Beacon” or “Fall Training” Alumni

Free Mid Winter 10 Mile or Irish Road Rover 5K Registration to 1st 30 participant.

Group meets Every Thursday evening @ 6pm.
Payment is due at 1st Session.
Coaching offered by Maine Running Company Coaching Staff

 

Targeted Races include: Mid-Winter 10 Mile, Irish Road Rover 5K
