13th Annual Breakaway 5K

The 13th Annual Breakaway5K will take place Saturday August 16, 2008. Breakaway 5K start time 8:00AM. Cash prizes and drawings for Prizes immediately after.

Kids (12 and under) Fun Run start time 9:00 AM.
Medals to all kids, along with T-Shirt, Dairy Queen ice cream, a slice of pizza, Pier fries and RIDES at Palace Playground!

XC Coaches and Athlete's Clinic

Join Maine Running Company's 2nd Annual XC Coaches and Athlete's Clinic. Keynote speaker will be Matt Lane, Former World Class 5K (13:25) and 10K Runner, 4th in U.S. Olympic Trials 2000 and 2004, Lauren Fleshman (14:58 5K; 3 time NCAA Champ (Stanford); US Champ - 2006) and Louie Luchini, current world class 5K (13:25) and 10K (28:41) runner. Lane and Luchini both grew up in Maine and are considered two of the best to ever come from the state.

Their Topic will be: "What I wish I knew in High School that I know Now" They will discuss Training, Racing and TeamWork!

Location: University of Southern Maine, Portland Campus, Gerald Talbot Auditorium, Luther Bonney Hall.

Directions: Take Exit 6B off 295 North or South. At 1st Traffic Light Turn Left. Academic and Administrative Buildings are on the Right.

Weekly Back Cove Series

The Weekly Back Cove Series will be held every Wednesday night @ 6pm, beginning May 14 and ending September 10, 2008. The race is a certified 5K course which begins at the corner of Preble St. Extension and Baxter Blvd. Below is information regarding the series
